Wow!

I just realized it's been about a year since I've blogged. I'm so sorry! But I've been having too much fun! I helped wrap Christmas presents. Well, I supervised.






And since we had such a mild winter, I've been spending tons of time at the dog park.

Blizzard!

We had a major snow storm in February. It snowed so much that I couldn't even get outside to go potty!

Luckily my "mom" shoveled out
a path for me!





And I was able to romp around in the snow!

Yard Work

My "parents" (especially my "mom') HATES yard work, however I LOVE it!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me.......Today, July 4th, is my birthday. I am 3 today!!!

My "parents" are so amazed by, and proud of, how much I've matured. I used to be QUITE a handful, but now I am the "golden dog." It only took 3 years!

I spent much of my birthday outside running in the yard with Pepper. My "mom" filled up the pool which I played in a bit. A family friend came over and my "mom" announced that I could not be yelled at or get in trouble for anything because it was my birthday (way to go "mom"!).

I got a "porkscrew" as a treat. It's rawhide rolled around smoked bacon skin. Mmm mmm! Pepper got one too because she gets jealous, but I get toys/treats almost every week so it was no biggie.

What's even best about my birthday? Is that the entire country celebrated with fireworks (which I am not afraid of)!

IDR Picnic

I went to my first picnic courtesy of my new sis, Pepper. We got her from the IL Doberman Rescue group and their annual alumni picnic was at Blackwell Forest Preserve. It was fun because there were a lot of dogs there (mostly Dobes). There were also games, vendors, raffles, and food. My "mom" bought Pepper and I some really cool treats. I also got a scarf with my name on it, even though I didn't come from the group. Pepper got to see her foster mom again and give her kisses. It was a fun time!

I got a pool!

I got a new toy... a pool! I didn't know what to do with it at first, but soon I discovered that walking in it and drinking water cooled me off. Pepper wanted nothing to do with it.

I also bobbed for my toys that floated which I liked. Pepper didn't like it because she couldn't get to the toys like I did. It it a nice thing to have especially during this heat!

Sweet Pepper ???

My "mom" calls my new sis, Pepper, her "sweet Pepper" because is so subdued... or so she thought. Some days she is referred to as "spicy Pepper" or even "rotten Pepper" depending on what she did. She can be a little brat. She takes my toys and runs with them across the yard, but I catch up with her. Then I throw her down and put her in her place.

Outdoor Fun Today

Today was my "mom's" first full day to spend with both Pepper and me, and what a great sunny day! She sat outside and read "Rescuing Sprite" by Mark R. Levin, a book she got from her friend and fellow blogger's mom, Stef.







We romped around all day in the sun. Pepper found a toad under the deck and, being the sweet one, followed it as it hopped everywhere. I, on the other hand - the total boy - picked it up and flung it in the middle of the yard. My "mom" thought it was gross. She is afraid of stepping on it and one of us chewing on it, so she caught it with a plastic container and let it loose in the very back of the yard.

Welcome Pepper!

I have a new sister, Pepper. She is a 1 year old Doberman/Beagle mix. She was adopted on Wednesday night from a Doberman rescue group. We met in the backyard and we raced around like maniacs. Then we went inside and wrestled. I like her, and she likes me. We do a lot of wrestling, and then nap, more wrestling, and more naps, etc. I have to get used to her playing with all my toys. Sometimes I will take my toys from her. My "mom" says that I have to learn how to share.

Pepper is a lot of fun and she will definitely distract me from chewing on shoes! I am so exhausted from all the playing that I can't even think about "shopping" for new things to chew on!

Mail for ME!

My mom got a free sample of Mixables, and it arrived today! I got some yummy food to mix in with my kibble. Of course I was a good boy today and deserved it! Go to varietypetfoods.com for a free sample!

I Have a Middle Name!

All my "mom's" other pets have had middle names... There was Lady Bug, Johnny Reb, Rocky Poo, Maddie Lynn, and Tanya F (short for Fuzzball, but F sounds much more sophisticated to Tanya's liking). She could never think of one for me until today! My official name is Riley P. It's a letter as it stands for many things (with the exception of Bun Snatcher), such as:

The Bun Snatcher

I have several nicknames, but the latest one is "The Bun Snatcher." Today, my "dad" made a hamburger. He loves hamburgers and of course hamburger buns are always on the grocery list. Well, he couldn't find the buns. Guess who ate them?

So I guessssssss Junior had a fit why Riley is blogged and not him. I suppose I have to side with my species, even though I'm an independent cat and could care less. Hmm... what to say. Well I love two things, my "mom" and sleeping.

My "mom" is my world. I've known here since I was a kitten and love snuggling next to her any chance I can get. I love her and no one else! That's pretty much all I do.

Junior Here!

I just thought I would chime in...how come Riley gets a blog and I don't??? I love my "mom" more than he does, guaranteed. I follow her EVERYWHERE like a shadow.

And I have a cat tower which he doesn't. This is so much better than a yard.......

My Perch

My "parents" built a wood lounge chair for their deck. Last summer, it had a padded covering but I chewed that to shreds (hehehe). So now I just use it as my perch so I can check out what's going on in MY yard.

Exhausted!

My "mom" was off of work for 4 days so I got a lot of playtime outside in the yard. I spent ALL day outside everyday, and we even went to the dog park on Saturday!

Potato Chips

I just discovered potato chips and I LOVE them. I recently saw a bag of chips on the counter and decided to help myself (when they weren't home of course!). I ate the whole thing and even chewed up the chip clip! Yes, I got in trouble but at least it wasn't a pair of shoes.

The next day, I ate another bag of chips, and 2 days later, I had a leftover container of breadsticks from Olive Garden. I can't help it...they leave yummy food on the counter. If I keep this up, they are going to put me on a diet. Everyone calls me "chunky" as it is.

I really hope they take me to the dog park to burn off calories!!

Happy Birthday Junior!

Happy Birthday to my roomie Junior. Since he was adopted, nobody really knows when his birthday is so my "mom" designated April 1st. She also thinks he must be at least 7 years old now.

Thanks for letting me try to play with you. I know you swat at me, but I think you want to play.
